Register and protect your trademark in 27 EU countries with one application

One registration with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) protects your mark in every member state for ten years, renewable; we handle the pre-filing check, the official fees and the follow-up to the final certificate.

  • Our own mark is registered

Exporya's own trademark is registered with the UKIPO in the UK; we practise what we offer you. Check it yourself in the official register.

  • A verifiable certificate

The final certificate is issued by the EUIPO, and anyone can verify your mark in the office's official online register.

Who this is for

A fit if you are

  • Exporting your products or providing your services in any member state of the European Union.
  • Running a commercial branch in Europe, or planning one.
  • Seeking a wider legal base for a global brand after registering in the UK or the USA.

Not for

  • Anyone who wants protection in the UK specifically: an EUIPO registration covers neither the UK nor Switzerland, and those need a separate UKIPO application.
  • Anyone who wants protection in a single European country only: a national registration in that country may be worth comparing, and we explain the difference in the consultation.
Scope of protection

An EUIPO registration covers the member states of the European Union only; it covers neither the UK nor Switzerland. Protection in the UK needs a separate UKIPO application.

The details and documents we need from you

Sent through the client dashboard; we confirm the final list after the search.

Always required

  1. The trademark owner's details, whether an individual or a company.
  2. The mark itself: the name as text, or the logo as an image.
  3. A description of the goods or services you use the mark for, or plan to.

Depending on your case

  • Priority documents, if you claim the priority of an earlier application filed in another country.
  • Your UK trademark file if the mark is registered there: the mark, its classes and the description of goods and services, which makes preparing the application easier.
  • An authorisation to file and follow up on your behalf, where needed.

What you actually receive

What reaches you in the client dashboard at each stage. What each package includes is listed on its card.

  • A professional opinion on your mark's prospects and the right classes, before any commitment.
  • The EUIPO application number within days of filing; it is not a registration number yet.
  • Updates on every development, with any refusal or opposition reported as soon as it arises, to the end of the publication period.
  • The final EUIPO certificate once the publication period closes without opposition.

The steps, in precise terms

Filing is not registration: after filing you receive an application number, and your mark is only registered once the publication period closes without opposition. Timing depends on the office, and we report every development.

  1. Check and consultation

    FreeProfessional opinion and class selection

We assess similar marks and the absolute grounds for refusal, and agree the right classes with you before any commitment.

  2. Filing with the EUIPO

    Within daysApplication number

We prepare the application in the correct classes, file it and pay the official fees. An application number follows, not a registration certificate yet.

  3. Examination, publication and the opposition period

Months, depending on the officePublication notice

The office examines the application and the mark is then published, and third parties may oppose during the publication period. We handle the correspondence and report every development as it happens.

  4. Final certificate

After the publication period closes without oppositionRegistration certificate

The mark is officially registered and the certificate is issued; we receive it and deliver it to your account.

Your obligations after registration

  • Protection lasts ten years and is renewable every ten years, with an official renewal fee paid to the office.
  • Five consecutive years without genuine use of the mark in the European Union can expose it to a cancellation request by any third party.
  • Any change in the owner's name or address is updated on the register so the office's correspondence reaches you and your details stay correct.

Frequently asked questions

Because uniform protection across every member state comes only from an EUIPO registration: there is no EU trade mark without registration, and anything else falls under each country's own law. If you export to Europe or operate there, registration is the foundation of your protection.

No. The UK is outside the European Union, and protecting your mark there needs a separate UKIPO application. An EU registration does not cover Switzerland either.

Prices are shown in the packages section of this page by number of classes, and every package includes the official fees for the number of classes stated. An additional class is added at the official EUIPO fee: ⁦€50⁩ for the second class and ⁦€150⁩ for each class from the third.

Ten years, renewable every ten years for as long as you renew and pay the office's renewal fee.

We reduce that risk from the start with the check before filing. If an absolute-grounds refusal or a third-party opposition arises, we tell you at once; a response to one refusal or one opposition is included in the Premium package, and in the other two packages we explain the options and the cost of a response before any step is taken.

No. An individual or a company outside the European Union can own an EU trade mark, and we handle the filing and the correspondence with the office on your behalf.

A UK registration gives no automatic right in the European Union, but your ready file, the mark, its classes and the description of goods and services, makes preparing the separate EUIPO application easier. We review the file with you in the consultation.
